Humidity

Houseplants come from a wide range of environments - lets take a look at those that like things a little wet and wild! Here are our humidity lovers and how to help keep them happiest!

Which plants tend to love higher humidity?

  • Calathea
  • Begonia
  • Palms
  • Ferns
  • Peace lily

There’s a number of ways to increase humidity, you can:

Use a small spray bottle & spray over leaves every 3-4 days - just be careful not to leave large droplets on the leaves which can encourage fugal growth

Create a pebble tray for your plants to sit on - Lay the pebbles in the bottom of a pot or on a tray, fill the bottom few cm with water and make sure the bottom of the pot doesn’t touch the water. Change water regularly

Treat your plants to an electric humidifier - Humidifiers emit tiny droplets of water which can be caught and absorbed by your plants

You can also group houseplants together to help increase humidity

BUT, definitely avoid... Sitting your plants in water, this will likely lead to root rot, encourage pests & yellowing leaves
