Venus fly trap - Dionaea muscipula
9cm nursery pot
Light: Bright light to partial sun
Water: During the growing season (March - October), you should stand your pots in about 1 cm of water. Avoid watering from the top. They prefer to grow in soil which is wet, but not completely waterlogged. During winter (November- February) they require less water, and the soil should be kept just damp.
Humidity: These tend to like normal humidity
Fertiliser: Carnivorous plants tend to dislike fertilisers but if you want to give them an extra treat you can feed them flies
Considered toxic if ingested
Top care tips:
- We recommend gently watering from the top until water is coming out of the drainage holes, but make sure its stopped dripping before putting into your decorative pot
- Increase humidity through misting, a pebble tray or electric humidifier
- Most plants are happiest in temperatures between 18 and 25°c, always try to stop temps falling below 15°c
